What about the Cookie Dough?

We are currently devising a delicious plan to stock local grocery stores with heaping tubs of Celeste’s Best Ready-to-Bake Cookie Dough. Check our Cookie Dough page for more information and follow us on Twitter and Facebook to get updates on which area grocery stores will be carrying this product.

Do you take special orders for weddings, showers, birthdays, and other events?

Yes we do! Please fill out our short form on the Special Orders page or get in touch with us at celeste@celestes-best.com or 512.689.3745 to ask about pricing.

Do you sell gluten free products?

Unfortunately, we don’t have the kitchen facilities to make gluten free products at this time. All of our products are dairy and egg free, and use no animal products whatsoever.

What does “vegan” mean?

When a product is vegan, it means that it doesn't contain any ingredients that come from animals. The obvious examples are cow's milk, eggs, butter, and cheese. Not so obvious ingredients that are not vegan include honey, whey, casein, and anything with lactose. Celeste's Best does not use non-vegan ingredients in our products.

Don't chocolate chips have milk in them?

Not all chocolate chips are made with milk chocolate, although the vast majority on grocer's shelves have dairy of some kind in them. The chocolate used in all our

products, including our cookies and our Ready-to-Bake Cookie Dough is free of any dairy.

How can you bake without eggs?

It's true that baking can be tricky without eggs. While some recipes don't need eggs at all, there are a number of egg substitutes that work beautifully in even the most traditional recipes. Experimenting will help a baker figure out which substitute works best for which recipes. Some common egg substitutes include arrowroot, potato flour, blended silken tofu, applesauce, psyllium, mashed banana, baking soda and vinegar, or Ener-G Brand Egg Replacer.

I've heard that sugar isn't vegan because it is processed through a filter made from animal bones. What's up with that?

The filter is usually referred to as a 'bone-char' filter, and yes, some sugar companies still use one. More and more sugar companies

are replacing their bone-char filters with synthetic ones and the only way to know for sure is to directly contact the company you buy your sugar from. Celeste's Best doesn't use sugar that has been processed using a bone-char filter. For more info on this and some interesting thoughts, click here.
